7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Products

Hey everyone! I found this survey on the internet and thought it would be fun to use as a post! I tag everyone who reads this to do this on your blog also, and if you do, please link back!

The Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty Products:

1. GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
2. WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
3. GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
4. SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
5. PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
6. LUST: What product did you lust after before you bought it?
7. ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

1. Most inexpensive: ELF Eyelid Primer, $1 and is amazing!
Most expensive: Lush Enzymion face lotion, about $40 with tax, but lasts months so its   worth it.

1. Love/hate relationship with ELF bronzer. Love the way it looks in the container, but the shimmer is not good while I battle already shiny skin!
Hardest to get: Lush Tea Tree Toner. I was at Lush with my mom one day, and saw this but accidentally grabbed Eau Roma Water to purchase on accident! I gave the Eau Roma Water to my mom, and after a couple weeks, made my way back to Lush to get the right one!

3. Best tasting: Lush's Bubblegum Lip Scrub and Honey Trap Lip Balm. Both so yummy together!

4. What do I neglect due to laziness? Facial primer. This one from Almay is great, but when I am running late in the morning, I skip this step. Horrible, I know.

5. Makes me feel confident: When I wear white eyeliner and waterproof mascara. The white eyeliner on my waterline makes my eyes pop, and waterproof mascara makes my eyes look big and awake! Plus whenever my mascara is not waterproof, I am always scared it will smudge!

6. Product I lusted before I got it: Urban Decay's De Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray. That name is a mouthful. I saw this in an Ulta add, and just haaaad to have it. Then 2 days later I bought it at the nearest Ulta.

7. What I would love to recieve as a gift: Daisy Eau so Fresh by Marc Jacobs. I did recieve this as a gift for my 19th birthday from my aunt, and I love it! I try not to use it unless it is a special occasion, but when I do use it, I always get compliments.

Hope you liked my post! What are your 7 deadly beauty product sins? Link back to me if you post!

Oily Skin DIY Face Mask

I love Spring! The flowers are starting to bloom, its warmer out, the birds are all back and chirping, but...my skin starts to get really oily again. I feel like I'm in a losing battle against the oil. I use makeup setting spray that gets rid of excess oil, oil reducing moisturizer, and oil reducing toner. I even still have to use oil blotting papers all through the day.

I came up with this face mask that also reduces oil. Used about three times a week, it has reduced the shine and oil on my face. It is not a miracle worker, but it has helped a lot.

In this mask, I used tomatoes, strawberries, and baking soda. According to Daily Glow, "Tomatoes have cooling elements to soothe raw skin, astringents to remove excess oil, and tons of vitamin C and A to brighten dull skin and restore its health." On the other hand, strawberries contain natural salicylic acid that is great for fighting acne, and baking soda is a great natural exfoliant.

Add Cherry tomatoes, some strawberries and baking soda to a blender. Blend up, and then add some extra baking soda until it becomes like a paste.

Then put on face and wait about 20 minutes. It will sting a little, but it is worth it.

Then rinse off and reveal beautiful skin!

Easter Outfit

I was so super excited to have Easter off of work this past Sunday. This was the first holiday I had off so far, and I really needed some family time, and some of my aunt and uncle's amazing cooking in my stomach. Kielbasa with kapusta, and asparagus, and cheesy potatoes, and ham, oh my!

This is what I wore to Church. My dress and shirt are from Forever 21.

My sisters are Marissa who is 16, and Hayley who is 14.

For shoes, I wore Jessica Simpson cage, zip up brown wedges. My camera is dead, and I can not find a picture of them anywhere online.

Hope you all had a great Easter!

Week one: Sleep

I have finally decided to start getting my life in order. My emotions, and bitterness have been going out of control lately, and I neeeeed to get myself back. I feel like I lost myself to stress, anger, no confidence, and no sleep.

I was so upset all the time. I was in a rut where I would go to school, go to work, eat food and then eventually go to sleep. Sprinkle some homework, studdying, and some hopeless thinking on top, and you got this bitter monster I had become.

Then, all of a sudden, I realized I was totally not myself anymore. I know, I know. Every college kid has to work, go to school, and try to make time for people, but it is really hard for me. I want to have time to create things and work on my blog, and cook. I finally came to the conclusion that I am an introvert, so I need my ME time to wind down. So without it, I felt like :

So I have been planning on working on myself. I have been thinking and researching things to do, try, and work on so that I can be truly happy.

Step one on my plan:

Get
More
Sleep!

I seriously get 5 or 6 hours of sleep a night. It is terrible, because I go to bed sometime a little after midnight, and wake up at six.

Then on Monday during class, I am sleepy but ok. Same thing for Tuesday. On Wednesday, I start getting a little bitter, and impaitent, and then it all goes downhill. By Friday, I am about ready to have a nervous breakdown from being too over tired/overstressed. But if I slept more, things would be a lot better.

So for this week, I will sleep more, and hopefully that habit will stick.

Plus, I go shopping in my dreams. My dreams are much more fun than the real world. Do you suffer from lack of sleep?

Irish Parade

Hey everyone! This post is a little late, but a couple days ago, it was St. Patrick's Day! Since almost everyone in Chicago has at least a little Irish in them, there are two HUGE parades and celebrations in the city. The sunday before St. Patrick's day is usually the South Side Irish Parade, and on St. Patrick's Day is the Irish Parade downtown Chicago. So many people go to these parades, you are almost guaranteed to see someone you know.

So anyway, me, my boyfriend, and a couple other friends went to the parade downtown this year. It was so long, but the weather was beautiful. We got so much candy and so many beads, so getting a farmers tan was worth it.

I did not go all out with the green like some people do, but here is what I wore, along with all the beads I got from the parade...

Shirt: forever 21
Sandals: Target
Claddagh Ring: Irish Imports

Look at my poor, sleepy, sunburnt guy. hahaha

hitting rock bottom

Hey everyone, I know I have been MIA from blogging for a while, but I'm trying to make a great comeback. Just blogging about beauty is kinda hard for me. I don't always get the chance to dress up, because I work right after class and go to school in my work yoga pants, and usually a t shirt until I can change into my work polo. Plus my makeup is just natural looking. So I wanted to start making this blog into a lifestyle blog, filled with makeup, fashion, as well as different posts about happiness, inspiration, and creativity.
I decided about 2 weeks ago that I was going to start blogging about happiness as soon as I had hit rock bottom again. Ironic, really. Who would ant to learn how to live a happy life from a 19 year old girl who has self-diagnosed on and off depression? Well my posts about happiness aren't going to be like a self-help book written by an expert on happiness. This is  going to be my journey to happiness, filled with ups and downs and tips along the way. I hope if you are in the same boat as me, where you really would just love to live a happier life, these new happiness posts help you.
But I had hit rock bottom one night while at work. I just started over thinking, and felt really lonely. I felt like everyone had so many friends and were having such a great, fun, happy life, and I wasn't. Then the bouts of depression kicked in, and lasted about a week.
So follow me on this new journey to real happiness.
